Ceramic casting also called lost wax, which using the wax to make the product's profile, then with coating process on the wax and baking to get the ceramic shell. Pouring with the melted metal,after cooling and related dressing process, we can get the right product.
Ceramic casting has very big advantages, it can achieve very tight tolerance to CT 4-7, and the surface also looks well, with Ra 1.6~3.2μm surface roughness. So that ceramic casting always implement to make very complex, high precision or hard to machined products, such as the turbine blades. It can significant reduce the difficulty and cost for those complex products. Now LSM can make castings from 0.001kg to 135kg, while with min 0.3mm wall thickness and min D0.5mm holes.
Also with Ceramic casting, it can make a lot of materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex steel, high alloy, copper base, ductile iron, etc.
